Übersicht

The Senior Hydraulic Engineer provides expert engineering support (onsite) for aircraft hydraulic systems (ATA 29) and landing gear and steering systems (ATA 32). The role is responsible for system analysis, troubleshooting, continued airworthiness support, and technical resolution of in-service issues, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance across the aircraft lifecycle.

 

Work Environment

  • Engineering office environment with frequent interaction with maintenance and operations teams
  • Occasional travel to MROs, airlines, suppliers, or OEM facilities

Verantwortlichkeiten

ATA 29 / ATA 32 Engineering Support

  • Provide senior-level technical support for hydraulic power generation, distribution, and control systems (pumps, actuators, reservoirs, valves, accumulators).
  • Support landing gear, braking, steering, and extension/retraction systems.
  • Analyze system schematics, functional diagrams, and installation drawings.
  • Support failure investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

In-Service & Operational Support

  • Resolve in-service issues, AOG events, and recurring defects related to hydraulics and landing gear.
  • Provide engineering dispositions and repair solutions for line and base maintenance.
  • Support troubleshooting using AMM, TSM, WDM, and FIM documentation.

Continued Airworthiness & Change Management

  • Assess and support Service Bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and modifications affecting ATA 29 and ATA 32.
  • Support development and review of repairs, deviations, and concessions.
  • Ensure compliance with EASA / FAA continued airworthiness requirements.

Technical Documentation & Reviews

  • Review and support updates to AMM, IPC, SRM, and troubleshooting manuals.
  • Support MSG-3 and maintenance program inputs related to hydraulic and landing gear systems.
  • Participate in design reviews and technical boards as a subject-matter expert.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Structures, Avionics, Loads, Stress, Tech Pubs, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
  • Interface with suppliers, OEMs, and regulatory authorities as required.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.

Qualifikationen

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience supporting aircraft hydraulic and landing gear systems.
  • Strong knowledge of ATA 29 and ATA 32 architectures and components.
  • Ability to interpret system schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and installation data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in OEM or airline customer support engineering.
  • Familiarity with aircraft certification and continued airworthiness processes.
  • Knowledge of brake control systems, anti-skid, steering, and shock strut systems.
  • Experience with in-service issue resolution and AOG support.
